A huge crowd
gathered on a beautiful spring day. The cattle were well presented
and well received. The female offering topped on Zara JR 202P,
3-29-04 by Leachman Frontline 1685; selling at $1,900 to Kris
Butcher, Othello, WA. The top selling Shorthorn Bulls went to
Windsock Farms, Lopez, WA taking two at $4,750 each. Top selling
composite sold at $4,000 to Carol Palmer, Harper, OR and top selling
Charolais going at $4,300 to Nord Farms, Bloomington, IL. Prime rib,
shrimp, oysters, scallops and hamburgers again were the stars at the
pre-sale lunch hosted by the Red, White, & Black participants. As
always the lunch that is hard to top anywhere in the West. The
hospitality of JR Ranch, the Jeff & Roger Schmidt families of
Othello, WA, was indeed five star. The consignment from the
Tellefsons of TC Cattle Co, Warden, WA and the Sackmans of Sackman
Cattle Co, Warden, WA were indeed strong and well received.
Certainly an event where the quality becomes stronger each and every
year. A job well done by these three top progressive programs. |
